Families in the Greater Atlanta area are invited to bring their baskets to hunt for Easter eggs on the grounds of West Milford Farm April 2, from 2 to 4 PM. Thousands of eggs will be hidden for the annual egg hunt that raises funds for Free Home Elementary’s Rocket Pantry. Admission is a $5 cash donation per participant, or $20 per family.
West Milford Farm is located at 7938 Ball Ground Road, Cumming.
Children 3 and under will be able to search from 2 to 2:30 PM; children aged 4 to 6 from 2:30 to 3; children aged 7 to 10 will have their turn from 3 to 4 PM. Additional activities throughout the day will include a silent auction, cake walk, yard games, face painting and music.
Since 2018 West Milford Farm has hosted the egg hunt to raise funds for the Free Home Elementary School pantry, whose goal is to send food home every Friday with students whose families are struggling with food insecurity. The pantry also assists Free Home families with utility bills, field trips, medical bills, school supplies and of course food.
Last year’s egg hunt was sponsored by 26 families and 30 companies and raised $6,600 for the pantry. Rocket Pantry is not affiliated with Cherokee County School System, but is a service provided by the local community from the kindness of their hearts. No tax-deductible receipt is given.
West Milford Farm specializes in rustic chic and Bohemian weddings and receptions. Its historic landmark buildings and 50+ acres of pastoral views draw couples and photographers from all over Metro Atlanta. “Fridays at the Farm” sunset concerts feature live shows with local talent from March through October.
