Just a short walk from the visitor’s center, you’ll find what’s known as The Fairy Trail. This was a project of Girl Scout Troup 13730 and is great for small children. You’ll find miniature houses, caves and sparkle-covered rocks. There are even signs encouraging you to build your own fairy houses there!

At some point during your escapade, make sure you check out the 5,600-square-foot visitor center. This impressive center features interactive exhibits, a relaxing area, outdoor games, a gift shop and more. You can pick out a special trinket to commemorate your hike!

Another excellent reason to visit Sawnee is that the adventure is free! It’s a nice outing with the family, friends, or on a date that won’t cost you a thing.
